March 11, 2009-

I cannot believe I haven't blogged since December 28, 2008!!!

Every day has been like the one before-cloudy, snowy-cloudy, snowy, cloudy-snowy!!!

Carol says it is like a movie called "Ground Hog Day" will Bill Murray (haven't seen it but I'll take her word on it). Our day started with a quick walk around the hotel, then a brisk game of "sockO", then the onions, garlic, peppers and eggs would start frying-I got the chicken and rice-then a biscuit, then a long nap for me-endless time on the computer for Barney-ETC

It was last week that I first noticed something was different. Carol started wrapping dishes-like she did when we left Texas. Then the clothes were put in big bags and Barney vaccumed all the air out and put them in the garage. This had happened before-I remembered-when we left Texas. Then the boxes came in empty and left full. Then I heard it-Carol was on the phone to Connie-ROADTRIP she said-and she sounded excited!!Then Barney said ROADTRIP and he sounded excited too.
When the morning broke yesterday-IT WAS SNOWING AGAIN-BUT-stuff started flying-and Barney started packing and boy he packs a mean car!! No space left unstuffed!!!
I smelled chicken going into the icechest-then all of a sudden-we were in the car and on a ROADTRIP!!!!
Before I knew it, the lull of the car put me to sleep and when I woke up we were going into our motel room in Bandon, Oregon-and I heard the ocean pounding on the rocks and the air smelled
like salt-but cold and kind of sweet. When we went inside, there was chicken on my plate, with kibbles and biscuits-yummm!! somethings never change and THAT is good!!
When we woke up, we walked on the beach and felt the sun on our faces-OHHHH I missed the feel of the sun's warmth !! However, we got back into the car and started the ROADTRIP once again. I actually stayed awake for much of the trip. As we went through this little green valley, farm after farm had hundreds of sheep with their new lambies close to their sides-they actually looked like me!!!
After many hours on the road-around steep curves and down long hauls (which had Carol slapping her hands over her eyes and stifeling her screams) we drove by huge snow covered Mt. Shasta and over awesome Lake Shasta.
About 8:00 we roll into Corning, CA and checked into the good ol' Best Western-Carol said they were expecting us-WOW. And guess what?? there was my chicken on a plate and with a biscuit on the side-I think I am getting a hang of this ROADTRIP thing-now tomorrow-we have to maneuver through a town called Sacramento then on to Tulare, CA for anothe night at the Best Western and hopefully-more Chicken!!!!
Good night and a biscuit for everyone!!
love Jackson
