DECEMBER 7,2008-
Today must be the first day of winter! It is the first day it has been cold and rainy in many weeks-soooooooooooo, sounds like winter to me and I should know, this will be my 5th winter!!!
Actually it is hard to tell here in Oregon, everything is still pretty and green-heck the roses are still blooming!!! (there is a special rose that Carol loves and she is writing a poem about it)She says she will KNOW when it is winter when the small group of Snapdragons by the river turn black-as of this morning they were still green and white!! I know, because I tried to pee on them-hahaha!
They both went to church today and left me here-I would of enjoyed seeing the second advent candle being lit and hearing Christmas Carols played on the huge organ-they said the choir was wearing their blue robes and sang especially well. Now they are home and we all just finished lunch. Barney has settled into watching the Cowboy game and Carol is working on her Christmas cards, so I thought I would grab the laptop to write a few words to everyone and send pictures of the Christmas lights that are all over the hotel next door. We get to walk through them everyday-Carol says it is like being in Santa's village and that we are sooooo special to have this opportunity. So, we all went walking last night, me on leash (of course!) and Barney carried the camera mounted on the tri-pod-he stopped often and took many pictures.
Well, I better finish here, Nathan and Jenny might come over later for soup (although I hear Nathan is really tired from his busy Saturday-seems he became the "pastry wizard" on Saturday afternoon and taught a small group of "paying students" how to make scones, apple tarts and many other tasty things, and that was after the busiest Friday nights they have had yet!!-Nora's is really THE place to eat these days!!).
YES!! Just enough time for a short nap!!
Jackson-outtta here!!!
much love.........peace bro!
